Take your newsletter subscriptions to the next level

February 25th, 2008 · No Comments

Sending a newsletter every now and than is a good way to stay in the mind of your prospects. However, before you can send your newsletter you’ll need subscribers… Getting visitors to subscribe to your newsletter can be very hard. Here are some tips to make it a little easier.

Promote your newsletter
Make sure visitors can see that they can subscribe to your newsletter. Hiding the subscription form won’t get you any subscriptions. Make sure the subscription form stands out on every page! Not just the homepage.

Trust and privacy policy
One of the reasons visitors won’t subscribe is because they are afraid their email address will be sold to spammers. So clearly tell them what you will (and won’t) do with their email address!

Why should visitors subscribe?
The number one reason that visitors won’t subscribe to your newsletter is because they don’t know what to expect. So tell them what they can expect and place link to an example newsletter.

It’s also smart to give something away when they subscribe. Something like a free e-book or report. The more valuable the report or e-book is the more subscribers you will get. So pay attention to the free product you are giving away. It’ll be the first “product” they will receive from you so it better be good!
