Improve Your Google Adwords ads: 2 more great tips!

March 21st, 2008 · 3 Comments

Yesterday I gave you 10 tips to improve your Google Adwords ads. Today I will give you two more.

I do hope someone else has another great tip to improve Google Adwords ads. Please send it to us. We will put it on our site with your name and URL.

My tips for today are:

Number 11: Visual creativity
There are a lot of possibilities to differentiate from the competition. Normally you will attract more visitors. You can create all kind of figures e.g. a “pyramid”, a “heart”, an “arrow”, or a “reverse arrow”, etc.

I will show you my artistic qualities, because it is Good Friday.

Number 12: No prices
It is not wise to write your selling-price in your Google Adwords ad. Unless of course you are absolutely sure that you have the cheapest offer. It is better to emphasize on discounts (see tip 5) or other benefits (see tip 4).

Question?
Now you got 12 tips to increase your CTR. When you are a Google Adwords user and you start experimenting these tips. Please let us know your results? Perhaps we can give you some extra tips.

    Love the arrow you made. As you know, these kind of codes are not allowed within Adwords. For some reason I did not realize you could use it outside of adwords, like you do to promote your webbook.

    One improvement could be to make the entire area clickable and have the entire picture light up or something if hovered. You could accomplish this with a wrapping div.

    The ‘arrow-figure’ does have some effect. Take a look at the following example;

    KEYWORD bla bla bla
    bla bla bla KEYWORD
    KEYWORD bla bla bla

    This seems to be the best form to give the users the best information they can get, from a single advertisement!

    When I think about it, Shoemoney once wrote a great post about this ‘arrow’-thingy;
