The motto of this article: Well begun is half done!
Successful businesses start with a plan. It is the road map how the business will operate, the definition of its customers, its goals and objectives, etc.
Lots of people just start an E-commerce site, a blog, a MLM site, or any other online business. The first few months they are very enthusiastic. Only, a few months later all their enthusiasm is gone. They are disappointed, frustrated. Why?
There are lots of reasons, for example:
- The income is to low
- The costs are too high
- It costs too much time
- It is more difficult than they thought
In other words: They stumbled because they didn’t study the hurdles at front.
I will give you the opportunity not to stumble by explaining the seven hurdles which lead to success.
Hurdle 1: Initiative
When you have an idea of starting your online business there are a few questions you should ask yourself;
- Why are you starting an online business?
To generate income? (How much?), to expose yourself? because you are unemployed? - Why are you qualified to start your online business?
Knowledge? experience?, education? - What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- What are your objectives for the next 12 months?
Hurdle 2: Gathering all kind of information
During this phase you start with defining the information you need or want. Next you have to gather the information and at the end of this hurdle you can draw conclusions.
Examples of parts of information are:
- Who are your competitors?
- Why are they successful?
- Who are your customers?
- What do your customers really need?
- How do you distinguish your online business?
Hurdle 3: Setting goals and objectives
Proper goals and objectives are SMART
- Specific
- Measurable
- Ambitious
- Realistic
- Time-frame
Hurdle 4: Choosing the right alternative
There are always more alternatives to solve a challenge. During this hurdle you will define all alternatives which are possible. Than you will make the final choice for the best alternative.
Hurdle 5: Road-map to success
Now you will define all the activities which will lead to success. How will you deal with bottle-necks? Make a clear time-table for at least six months.
Hurdle 6: Execution
Now you need: discipline, fun, determination, flexibility, endurance, focus, etc.
Hurdle 7: EvaluationMake an evaluation every month.
- What is going well?
- What is going wrong?
- How can I do it better?
Conclusion
My device is: Well begun is half done!
